Columbus Symphony Orchestra

Columbus Symphony Orchestra

Formed in 1855, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra is the first orchestra founded in Georgia and the second orchestra founded in the nation. The CSO is under the direction of Maestro George Del Gobbo, who has been with the CSO since 1987. Currently, the CSO performs at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts and produces four Classical Masterworks concerts, two Contemporary Pops concerts, two Chamber Orchestra concerts, one Family Concert, and a community outreach concert at Callaway Gardens. In addition to our artistic programming, the CSO reaches out to over 6,000 local students and children through our educational programming and school matinee performances.

The CSO is aided in its effort in education, audience development, and fundraising through our largest fundraiser – Synovus Toast of the Town. The CSO is a tenant of the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts.
